    I shall be there…..

P.S. Ike is the name of the baby from South Park, not a former President.

I have lived in Texas since September 1982, and NEVER have owned a pair of boots. What’s even more alarming is that I likely never will!

Having said that, I may never ride the Toy Train either.

    Are RINO-Butt-Kicking Loafers OK?

BRAMANTI RESPONDS: Do they have pennies in them? Take the pennies out…you’ll need them to pay your tax bill.

It’s about time to let the pols in Austin know that we’re out her in force! I just wish it wasn’t a holiday weekend which may distract some but not me!!

    BENZION

A quick way to organize Ft. Bend Co. taxpayers,AT MY EXPENSE FOR CLOUT, would be for me to send invitations to join to those who had large % increases in valuations. Can you suggest a way to get a list of appraised properties without doing a 1 by one search?

I will mail the suggestions to join CLOUT if an appropriate list can be aquired.

I am not a country and western expert, but here it goes. To the sound of “Take this job and shove it”.

My Give a Damn is Busted
I Ain’t Votin’ For You No More
    You Took All My Money
Then Appraised Me Out The Door
My Give a Damn is Busted
I Ain’t Votin’ For You No More

    Please add more verses.

Last year I had to protest our appraisal when we had a big increase but was lucky enough to have a approximately 12% decrease but this year again it’s up 8% and I have filed another protest. I am willing to oust these pseudo Republicans in the state House out of office.

  7. Bob Temple on May 25th, 2005 at 9:30 am

I will not be able to attend except in spirit. Hope you will be able to identify potential condidates to run against the the RINOs. We have a family committment to be in Florida leaving mid-day on Friday. Keep up the good work.

  8. John Olds on May 25th, 2005 at 9:33 am

My taxes actually dropped on the last appraisal by $3,760 dollars from $77,800 to $74,040, a 4.8% decrease, I believe. Of course I am not in Harris County. I am in Grimes county, which is just barely across the Waller county line north of Magnolia (Montgomery county). Maybe we are fortunate enough to have Republicans that are not RINOs representing us. I just wanted to let you know it is not bad everywhere and will definitely remain a member of CLOUT to be sure it stays that way.

Just wondering, is there a particular time that this event will start? BENZION RESPONDS: Starts at 2pm (broadcasting live on KSEV as well), "officially" ends at 7pm. Riot following could last as late as 3-4 a.m.

  11. Texascot on May 25th, 2005 at 12:49 pm

I might not be able to make it, but can you advise if you’ll be providing information on how to protest a valuation at the event or on this site? I’ve not yet completed my protest form, and am not sure whether to go with a company to do this or do it myself.

  12. Kathy on May 25th, 2005 at 1:26 pm

Late last week, I heard y’all say that there would be a spreadsheet posted this week to help with the tax protest with HCAD; when will it get posted, please?

  13. Harvey Wallbanger on May 25th, 2005 at 1:50 pm

We Libertarians are with you all the way. We were wondering when you would wake up to the fact that Republicans are now outspending and out-taxing the Democrats.

The best government is a tiny one which does a few things well but stays out of our way the rest of the time.

Will there be a petition to sign to show our outrage?

  15. Dana E. Petroni on May 26th, 2005 at 11:32 am

See y’all tomorrow (Friday 27 May).

  16. Carol Carpenter on May 26th, 2005 at 1:55 pm

Which side of the freeway? BENZION: Both! It’s on the North side of I-10.

  17. TOM on May 26th, 2005 at 3:01 pm

Cannot come but I can recommend this quartet of rinos for the dunking booth. Least they would not be in Austin fouling up every thing! I do not recommend their singing!

  18. Jay Mattern on May 26th, 2005 at 5:07 pm

Regrets; I’ll be out of town.
HOPE IT TURNS OUT GREAT AND I’LLL SHOOT FOR THE NEXT ONE.

  19. Bob Foote on May 26th, 2005 at 7:54 pm

Just as we did with Carl Parker and Jim Bernson; we will find a “real” Conservative and Williams can go back to financial advising or whatever smoke and mirror deal he had before he convinced us he knew what “taxpayer power” was!!!!!!

  20. M A VOTING TAXPAYER !!!! on May 26th, 2005 at 8:23 pm

    Run Dan Run !!!
    Run Dan Run !!!

You say the word. I am NOT voting for another Repulican. I am sick and tired of these clowns …from here to D.C.

  22. Don Milsop on May 27th, 2005 at 9:46 am

I think this is more akin to the Boston Tea Party than Woodstock. The next election will equate of Lexington and Concord when we start whittling down their ranks. RINO’s would do well to remember that the first shots of the revolution started on one small village green, but it sure did spread.

  23. julius baumann on May 28th, 2005 at 6:26 am

You set the pace, the format, at Jullians. But there were bunches of very nice people who are more than concerned about taxes - concerned about their kids and grand kids, concerned about their country, their soldiers, their world. It is always good to share concerns with people who know and care. Many know and don’t care or react negatively to just about everything. And so it will ever be - but we are supporting the people who have honest concern, compassion, vibrant leadership. P.S. ABC - Always Be Careful as I know sensitive people will always try to be. I remember when everything constructives said was re-broadcast far and wide as sinister, foggy minded, stupid, irrelevant. The left has always been ready to smear the opposition.

  24. jean on May 28th, 2005 at 6:26 pm

Although I was unable to join in I heard most of it on the radio and it sounded like a rip roaring good time. Can’t wait to see the pics from everybody.
I noticed also, that the Chronicle didn’t apparently consider hundreds of people with star wars git up or hoes in their hands in revolt to the property tax worth covering. Sad what they call news, if you were promoting gay rights, they would have showed up!

My first visit to a KSEV rally was great. Was able to meet or put a face with those I have been listening to for quite some time. Had the opportunity to sit with John LeCour and chat for 15 minutes or so. He is a class act. He is my new hero. When I arrived home in Waller County that afternoon, I found my new tax appraisal had gone up sharply. Guess I’ll be trying out the new spreadsheet also.

I am so happy someone is looking out for me. I am a widow and trying to keep going and the taxes out here in Sienns Plantation are out of sight and when I protest about them, I was told,”well that’s what you get for buying in Sienna” That’s some attitude!I with you all and thanks again for all your help for me and other folks, retired or not.
    Thanks again.

Sorry I missed the gathering. Hope this is not the last.

I never saw anyone from our local media, paper or TV at the event @ Jillians. What happened?
Was the crowd too large? do they despise tax payers? was it too hot to go outside? were they worried about the makeup running or the hairdo losing it’s poof? were they just too tired? was there a hotdog eating contest they had to cover? was there a 4 people protest march badmouthing Houston’s finest? did the ‘Stros win a game?
    I just don’t know.

  29. James Rodgerson on May 31st, 2005 at 7:41 am

Thanks for putting on this event!

  30. david Allbritton on May 31st, 2005 at 7:45 am

Darth Dewhurst poster is hilarious. He is showing signs of weathering. Great rally.

  31. Kathi Smith on May 31st, 2005 at 8:51 am

We really enjoyed out time Friday talking to the RINO hunter and watching Dan react to a snake around his neck. (Hey Dan you should be use to it since you once shook hands with Fred over the Hill)

Friday we also received the CyFair newsletter showing the cost of 4 new high schools near us and the new stadium.

Also in the same newsletter was a list of new school bonds they want passed. As far as I am concerned - NO WAY! No new bonds not as long as we have the extra money to spend 25 million to build a palace and call it a school. THIS EXCESS SPENDING MUST STOP NOW!!!

Thanks for putting faces with the voices that I have been listening to for so long.

If it weren’t for the holiday weekend planned weeks in advance you would have had another 11 Friendswood citizens there…..so sorry we had to miss it.

  34. phyllis & alan ferguson on May 31st, 2005 at 5:14 pm

We were unable to join you on Friday but our thoughts were there with you. Faithful listeners,
Edd & Dan, and certainly appreciate the “tax reduction hard work” you both do. Thank God we have you to fight that battle for the rest of us.
    God Speed!

    We love & appreciate you,

    Alan & Phyllis Ferguson

Keep up the good work and I am ready for a RINO HUNT. We need a goog old TAX REVOLT ALL OVER THE NATION> When you get ready for the National Rino Hunt look no farthur, we are ready.

  36. Alan Ecton on May 31st, 2005 at 10:41 pm

We had a great time Friday afternoon at the tax protest rally/RINO hunt. If Gov. Perry doesn’t get the message we sent…well, Kinky Friedman is starting to look good!

I have been very impressed with the Honorable Senator Cornyn. He has been vocal and does seem to be in the print and other media. I am proud he is representing me.

Senator Hutchison, on the other hand, seems to be hiding, or I have just missed her comments.

For the sake of our children keep Benzion away from the rino during photo ops.

  39. Dana E. Petroni on June 1st, 2005 at 4:32 pm

    A little humor break.

Matt B: You mean that Darth Vader is not real? Even worse, it is you that represents the “Evil Empire”? We are in trouble. I have a picture of a cat flashing his “force sword” ready to slay you. I will send it if I can find it.

Next thing we find out is that Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, et al are all fakes too.

We already know that the state of Texas believes money still grows on trees and that we are all made out of money.

  40. Andrew Chong on June 2nd, 2005 at 10:34 am

I intended to attend but had a graduation to go to….

I’ll take some better pictures the next time.

Keep up the good work, Dan and Edd and KSEV.

    Regards,

    Andrew Chong
